Geogrids

Geogrids are advanced geotextiles with special properties, as high tensile strength, combined with a low elongation. This gives the geogrids a high modulus of elasticity and stiffness, making them extremely suitable for stress distribution and reinforcement on poorly load-bearing surfaces. The regular openings and fixed junctions create a high friction coefficient between the soil to be reinforced and the geogrid, the interlocking effect, which creates a very stiff and stable basement layer.

Geopex geogrids are used in:

  • reinforcement of embankments on poorly load-bearing subsoils
  • reinforcement in road constructions
  • soil reinforcement of steep slopes (uniaxial)
  • crane hardstands

Polyester woven Geogrids

The Geopex Polyester woven geogrids are highly specialized combinations of PVC-coated polyester yarn with a high modulus and an advanced weaving technique, which gives them the following properties:

  • Strength: High stiffness due to high strength at low elongation. Tensile strengths up to approximately 400 kN/m¹ are possible
  • Durability: Polyester (PES) is a very resistant and stable polymer. Combined with the advanced weaving technique, this results in a fabric with excellent properties regarding creep, mechanical damage, UV stability and chemical and biological attacks.
  • Friction: the large mesh will create a very good bond between the geogrid and the coarse filling material. This is also called interlocking.
  • Flexible: the use of polyester multifilament yarns makes the product very flexible and easy to process.

PP extruded Geogrids

Geopex geogrids are advanced geotextiles with specific properties, such as high tensile strength in combination with low elongation. This gives the geogrids a high modulus of elasticity and stiffness, making them extremely suitable for stress distribution and reinforcement on poorly load-bearing surfaces. The regular openings and fixed junctions create a high friction coefficient between the soil to be reinforced and the geogrid, the interlocking effect, which creates a very stiff and stable foundation layer.

Geopex geogrids are used in:

  • reinforcement of embankments on poorly load-bearing subsurfaces
  • reinforcement of road foundations
  • soil reinforcement in, for example, steep slopes (uniaxial)

SPC certified geogrids in Railways

Railways are an important part of the infrastructure. Trouble-free operation, with as little disruption as possible due to train failures, is essential for our society.

The use of geotextiles in the railway will contribute to areliable operation with as little maintenance and disruptions as possible.

Geopex is supplier of a complete range of filter nonwovens, geogrids and combination grids for rail applications, all certified in accordance with the latest ProRail SPC’s.
